Description
The Tortoise and the Hare is the tale of the speedy Hare who challenges the slow and steady Tortoise to a race. The charming story is animated by a bevy of animal friends including a French element in the character of Mrs. Beaver who runs the French bistro where Hare stops for a bowl of onion soup. Stephen Simon’s score includes lovely solos for the contrabassoon as the Tortoise lumbers along and racing strings for the Hare. The charming song, “Pretzel Vendor of Paris” – complete with accordion – leaves everybody humming. This program is recommended for audiences ages 5 and up.
